Hello everybody, and welcome to FitNut UAE!

Let me introduce myself.

My name is Sarah Al Nowais. I am a 29 year old Emirati with a passion for all things relating to Health, FITness and NUTrition.

I started this blog along with an instagram account @fitnutuae a couple of years ago as a means to share my passion but more importantly as a means to connect with other health and fitness enthusiasts.

I have always been active and loved sports growing up. My fave? Swimming and Horse Riding!  That is not to say that I have always been fit and healthy. In fact, I yoyo-ed quite a bit and tried a handful of crash diets that only aggravated my energy, mood and overall health.

It wasn’t until my last year in university, in 2010-2011, when I thought “OK I need a long term solution. This is getting exhausting” did I get into healthier habits for good. First, I decided to be more consistent with my exercising, because that was the “easier” part for me (just think of how you feel once your done!). I didn’t want the cold UK weather to get to me anymore so I started incorporating at home workouts for rainy (read too lazy/warm to leave the apartment) days. That’s about the time I came across toneitup.com and their easy to follow you tube videos. All I had to do is buy myself a couple of dumbbells and a mat. And I have to say, these ladies changed my life. They exemplified and simplified healthy living and once I was back in the UAE I decided to purchase their nutrition plan. Delicious recipes focusing on eating whole foods, from all food groups, and of course an education section that taught me the basics in the simplest manner. I was never hungry by the way, barely had bad cravings and the inches just kept dropping. Now that was something I could stick to.

We all start somewhere. That was my starting point. And the most valuable lesson I’ve learnt is: CONSISTENCY. After all Health is a vehicle not a destination, it is a way of life. Then and only then will you be able to see lasting results.

I want to have the same impact, which Is why I started this blog and why I decided to study health coaching at The Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Today, I am a certified Health Coach, a level 1 Raw Food Chef and currently studying Hormone Health. I have also co-founded #theADmovement with a bunch of inspiring ladies to help spread the health.

I want this blog to answer your questions and tap into your curiosity. I want it to be a platform for all health and fitness enthuthiasts to share their knowledge with the rest of the FitNut community. I want FitNutUAE to be a constant source of motivation.
